Thanks for Swingin' by!

Besides decorating, one of my favorite things is party planning.
I've always loved throwing a good party, but never really went "all out".
So I was looking at old pics today and decided to share my first party I planned.

My neighbors baby shower! Here are some pics.

baby's name Ava

The theme was girly monkeys.

I loved it, my oldest daughter's nickname is monkey (her poppop's idea).
So this was so fun for me.
I did have plenty of help from my mom and bestie.

The baby's name was made from unfinished wood and scrap booking paper from Hobby Lobby.
Simply traced the letters on the back of the paper cut out and mod podged it to the wood.

Monkey Diaper Cake Made by my mom & I.

These were wash clothes, made to look like lollipops!

 Chocolate dipped marshmallows(pink marshmallows)
"She's about to POPcorn" My mom made.
 Chocolate covered pretzels
Pink Punch

We kept the food simple, some tortilla roll ups, mini Mexican dips, and mini subs.
See the plate stands holding the pretzels & marshmallows?
Made those too! 2 clearanced plates from Hob Lob, and 2 dollar tree candle sticks.
I spray painted the candle stick white, used gorilla glue, and Viola!
Two plate stands that were too adorable!

The favors Hershey bars & little bags of Hershey kisses.
My daughter & I made these.
Just print them off onto sticker paper, and stick on to Hershey kisses.
There you have it my first party! Hope you enjoyed the picture and can use these for inspiration on future baby showers!

Busy Busy Bee!

Hope Everyone had an awesome Memorial Day weekend!

I know my family and I did! We spent lots of time together, mostly just me and the girls :)

Here was some of our Saturday!

Soaking their tootsies
After we ran some errands, we came home and I gathered up all of my favorite things I use to pamper myself. Then treated the girls to a night of pampering! Pedicures, Chocolate Facials & a movie.

After their toes were done!
Chocolate Facials
Myla kept trying to eat it! lol I bought them from walmart, pretty cheap.

I didn't get to try the mask, but the kids loved them & they smelled awesome.

Movie Night
After the pampering, we made a comfy place on the floor and watched Brave.
It was a cute movie and Myla even watched the whole thing!

Sunday we had a friends housewarming/memorial day party. For the first time in a LONG time, me and the hubs got to go out and have some fun with friends! Thank goodness for living by both sets of grandparents.
I made a wine "cake" for their housewarming gift. Who doesn't love wine?

Moscato "cake"
I saw a picture on pinterest with a similar idea but no website :(
So I decided to try and wing it, 2 hours before the party. I'm going to be making another for my moms bday, maybe I'll post a tutorial? ;)

Pictures from the BBQ

Sadly no pictures with my man, he was around some where lol
But I had a great night with my best gal friends

Hopefully I can get on here more this week to post some, home tour pics!

Little bit of this and some of that

What I did this week:

For Mothers Day I received three gift cards to Kirklands (Haven't heard of them? Google that asap!) One of my FAVORITE stores EVER! They have such cute stuff, at great prices. Plus you can download their app (Spin to Win) and save money every time you shop. Usually 5-10% off your entire purchase. But this week I went in on Tuesday, and did my spin to win app & got $10 off a $50 purchase! Score! Since my gift cards totaled $125, it was perfect! Here's what I got:

My great deals!

First my little bird thingy, its like an outdoor wind chime? Whatever. I love little birds, not real ones though they give me the creeps! Next, my Home frame, its the perfect color for my kitchen or living room so yeah had to have it! And another frame, i love this color blue which is the theme of our living room. I've had my eye on this since it was $19.99. No way I'd pay that much but it was back on the clearance shelf.

I also found a cake stand, don't have one yet, so why not? Lastly, my wine themed tray, which was also clearanced, for $12.99. I'm going for a Tuscan theme for our kitchen, I plan on putting this up above our cabinets. The only thing not pictured is the big mirror I got was $79.99, on sale for $39.98! Holla!

The other finds were from Ross, who doesn't love Ross?! Like seriously, I could go everyday and find things I love. I got the metal wall art for $13.99, the picture doesn't do it justice, its a gray color and really big. Then there is my outdoor rug, I just wanted something simple for our front entry way. Turns out its too small for where I wanted it but I'll make it work haha.

Chewy Goodness!

My *new* cake plate

After a long but successful day of shopping, I was relaxing on the couch, pinning of course!
I came across these cookies, and decided to see if I had the stuff on hand. Totes did! These are sooo good and soft! Oh and easy, I'm no Betty Crocker, so these were right up my alley.

Cool Whip Cookies
Ingredients:
One box cake mix (flavor of your choice)
1 container whipped topping (such as Cool Whip)
1 egg
Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350. Mix cake mix, whipped topping and egg until dough forms. Drop dough by heaping tablespoon onto greased cookie sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Let cool on cookie sheet for 1-2 minutes, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely. Once cookies are cool, sprinkle with powdered sugar and place in sealed container.
I used the recipe here: Crazy for Crockin'

There are other versions where you refrigerate it, then roll in powdered sugar instead of dusting. Since it was a last minute thing I didn't do that, next time I want to try that way.

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend! Stop by next week for a tour of the house!
